Projet Hail Mary

Ryland Grace wasn't meant to live.

In Project Hail Mary, Ryland Grace is sent on a mission he didn't wish to go. A mission he would not return from. A mission to save humanity from astrophage, a bacteria that has been draining the energy of the sun. But when Grace meets another interstellar traveler who was finding a solution to the exact problem, he realizes that he has a responsibility, not only for Earth, but also for the species of this new friend.

This mission was one-way. There was only enough fuel for Grace to reach Tau Ceti, but not come back. But through sheer will and determination, Grace prevails. With a will made of xenonite, he changes the fate of his species, and another's.
